The Steward Family | Portland Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossom photo season was short and sweet this Spring due to the spreading of the Coronavirus.  I soaked up every second of my love for photography during my last few shoots, knowing I would not be photographing families for a while.  As hard as it is to take a break, I am happy that all my clients are safe at home now!

Magical Natural Light Photography

The use of light can take a photograph from just looking pretty to really popping with brightness and soft colors.  In the first set of images, I played with filtered backlighting through the tall trees behind the cherry blossoms. To achieve this look, I always shoot early in the morning or in the late afternoon or evening on a sunny day.

Cherry Blossom Pictures

This was my second time photographing the Stewart family! They showed up ready for fun and laughter on this chilly March morning.  I especially loved their wardrobe choices of soft neutral tones and a lovely flowing dress for mom. A flowing dress creates movement and a beautiful visual appeal in photographs.  Mother, Sachiyo, is a Japanese speaking family photographer in Portland Oregon. You can see more of her stunning photography work right HERE.

Stay Safe and Healthy my friends!

Seeing cherry blossoms around Portland during this sad time really brings a special cheer to our community.  My wish is that these spring flowers bring you hope and patience as we wait out this difficult time. I’ve also been enjoying the cherry blossoms on the trees in my neighborhood on a daily walk with my husband and our dog.  Stay home and stay safe my friends!
