For Benjamin’s 1st birthday photoshoot, we took some lifestyle family photos around the neighborhood. Benjamin and his big brother Max had a blast playing together which made it easy to photograph candid moments!
Playful Family Photoshoot with the Kidney Family
It was a joy to meet and photograph the Kidney family! Their session was playful and active, perfect for an adventurous family session! Silas, age 3, loved looking at photos of himself on the back of my camera in between shots! We played a little peak-a-boo, ran around a lot, and he even invited me to play with him on playground after his session!

Thank you for our time together Kristen, Jeff, and Silas!
Happy National Sisters Day!
For national sister’s day, I’m sharing some special moments from one of my favorite sessions featuring sisters!
“A sister is someone who loves you from the heart. No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart. She is a joy that cannot be taken away. Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.”
“When traveling life’s journey it’s good to have a sister’s hand to hold on to.”
“There is no better friend than a sister. And there is no better sister than you.”
“The greatest gift our parents ever gave us was each other.”

What a playful and adventurous family session! This was the second year my friend Erica drove her family up to Portland from Eugene to update their family portraits with me. I absolutely LOVE photographing them! We did playful shots, silly shots, traditional family portraits, and of course some romantic shots of the engaged couple-Erica and Jason!
It was so fun to see this sweet family again and celebrate Emilia's 1st birthday! The first time I photographed baby Emilia she was bumping out in her beautiful mama's belly! It’s been fun to watch her grow! I absolutely loved capturing these moments at her one year milestone photoshoot! The 1-year balloon was a cute addition to the photo shoot too!
What To Expect at Your Newborn Session
Newborn Lifestyle Photography
Lifestyle newborn sessions are very relaxed. They last 1-2 hours and are flexible with time to allow you to take breaks and feed your baby if needed. When I first arrive I will walk around your home to check out the window light and to make a plan for the session. You are always welcome to email me photos of your home beforehand if you wish.
It's natural to feel a bit awkward in front of the camera, but newborn sessions are very laid back. I will be documenting natural interactions between you and your baby (snuggles, kisses, loving gazes). Sometimes I will position you or move you into the best lighting. If your newborn has siblings, we will also want to include them in some photos. If you have any “must have” inspirations or shot ideas, let me know ahead of time! I will also need to stand on your furniture and bed to photograph all different angles!
The Studio: Your Home
After just having a baby, the last thing I want you to do is worry about cleaning your house for photos! Start observing the light in your home now and pay attention to what room has the best natural light coming through the windows in the morning. Then only worry about keeping those spaces tidy! You do not need to have a spacious bright and airy home, all we need is a bedroom or living room with a good window. We may do some photos of you and your family snuggling on a bed, so find a bedroom with pretty natural light. If you have one, please put a white comforter or blanket on the bed.
The Day Of
The day of your newborn session, keep your home a little extra toasty. Feed your baby right before I arrive. These two things help keep babies sleepy and happy while being photographed. During the session there is no rush, we can take as many breaks as you need to feed and attend to your baby.
Have a newborn on the way?
As always, I would love to work with you and your family! If you have a little one on the way, please reach out! Newborn sessions are usually scheduled out 1-4 months in advance.
My lifestyle family photography rule: ALL snuggles must be documented! And warning...there are a lot of snuggles in this session! For family photography, I love guiding everyone into poses that show connection, and then letting things unfold from there to create authentic moments. Here are some favorites from my fall session with Belen, Hubert, and Camilo! We met at Cooper Mountain Nature Park in Beaverton, Oregon for a fall sunset session.
George Rogers Park is located in Lake Oswego not too far from the downtown. From the wooden bridge to the sandy beach along the Willamette River waterfront, this park is a gorgeous location for a family photo shoot. On a warm, summer day, you may not have the beach to yourselves, as it is a popular place for Lake Oswego residents to hang out and swim!
