Petite studio newborn sessions are baby-led and relaxed, perfect if you’re craving something meaningful and timeless without having to tidy up the house or stress over the details. We’ll focus on connection, not perfection. I don’t pose newborns or use props, instead you will snuggle together on elegant couches and let the natural light stream into your photos through gorgous wall to wall windows.

As a mom myself, I’ve experience when your newborn is placed in your arms for the first time, time does something funny.
The days feel long, but somehow the weeks slip through your fingers.
That sleepy weight on your chest, the tiny sighs, the way their little fingers wrap around just one of yours, these moments deserve to be frozen in time. Babies are tiny miracles, and I consider it the greatest honor to preserve those fleeting, beautiful moments for you to cherish forever.

Ideal for parents wanting a simple way to document the early days with their newborn in a timeless, natural style. Held in the gorgeous warm and welcoming natural light studio in downtown Portland.
To reserve your newborn session, please select a date on the reservation calendar. You will be guided through the booking process. A $100 session retainer and contract are required in order to finalize your booking.
*Save $100 when you bundle with a maternity mini session.
When to schedule: 2-4 weeks after your due date.

For those tiny, fresh newborn moments, schedule your session 7-14 days after your due date. Newborn session dates are flexible to change, as newborns arrive on their own time. If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, please reach out to me and we can adjust your session date. With this style of newborn photography, it's also ok to wait 3 or 4 weeks or anytime during the first 6 months so you have more time to settle in at home first.

You can expect to receive your photos 2 weeks after your session date, delivered via a personal online gallery.

You will be given personal printing rights to download and print images as you please. Elizabeth Hite Photography offers professional lab printing of images a la carte through your online gallery. Clients may choose to print from outside labs, but Elizabeth Hite Photography cannot guarantee the quality of prints from an outside lab.

I respect your family privacy! All clients will be given the option to have their photos shared publicly by Elizabeth Hite Photography on the website, blog, and/or social media.

Elizabeth Hite Photography serves newborn families all over the Portland metro area, as well as in Beaverton, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Happy Valley, Tualatin, Tigard, Wilsonville, Vancouver, and Camas. If you live outside of these areas and would like to work with Elizabeth, please reach out about travel availability.

Of course!
If your newborn has siblings, we will want to include them in photos. I do not put pressure on siblings to participate, instead, I invite them to join in throughout the session when they feel like it. I want their experience to be fun and relaxed as well.
If grandparents are around, I will encourage them to join for a few photos.

Your baby’s needs and safety come first. I am fully vaccinated and committed to keeping your family healthy! I am happy to wear a mask to your newborn session if you request. If you have safety concerns, please reach out and talk to me.

Yes, I offer fresh 48 sessions! A Fresh 48 session is a special way to document the first 48 hours of your newborn's life in your hospital room or birth space. During your session, I document all the tiny and oh so sweet milestones such as first yawns, sibling introductions, first feedings, and lots of sleepy snuggles! .
