My studio newborn sessions are designed with the same heart as my in-home newborn photography sessions. They are relaxed, natural, and full of meaningful connection. We focus on what matters most: you, your baby, and the love that’s growing between you.
Instead of posed, wrapped setups or placing your baby in stiff or uncomfortable positions (like traditional posed newborn photography), I gently guide you through real, snuggly family moments. You’ll cuddle on a cozy couch by elegant wall to wall windows, breathe in that newborn smell, and simply be present while I capture it all. I do include a beautiful, neutral bassinet for a few simple baby-only photos for just your little one, unposed and perfectly them. I’ll document the sweet details too: tiny fingers, soft lashes, little yawns, and all the things you’ll want to remember forever.

That sleepy weight on your chest, the tiny sighs, the way their little fingers wrap around just one of yours, these moments deserve to be frozen in time. Babies are tiny miracles, and I consider it the greatest honor to preserve those fleeting, beautiful moments for you to cherish forever.
When Should I Schedule My Studio Newborn Session?
The ideal time to book your studio newborn session is between 7–14 days after your due date. At this age, babies tend to be extra sleepy and cuddly. But here’s the truth: you haven’t missed your chance if that window slips by. My studio sessions are baby-led and natural, which means it’s perfectly okay to wait a little longer. Older newborns (3–6 weeks or even later) often brings extra connection like more eye contact, a hint of personality, and sometimes even a sweet little smile!

To reserve your newborn session, please select a date on the reservation calendar. You will be guided through the booking process. A $100 session retainer and contract are required in order to finalize your booking.

Your studio newborn experience takes place in a bright and cozy natural light studio inside The New York Building in central Portland. It has beautiful views of the city, the West Hills, and the Fremont Bridge. Huge windows on both sides fill the space with soft, glowing light that’s perfect for those tender, quiet moments with your baby.

Elizabeth Hite Photography offers a quick turnaround time for you to get your adorable baby photos in your hands as soon as possible! You can expect to receive your photos 2 weeks after your session date, delivered via a personal online gallery.

You will be given personal printing rights to download and print images as you please. Elizabeth Hite Photography offers professional lab printing of images a la carte through your online gallery. Clients may choose to print from outside labs, but Elizabeth Hite Photography cannot guarantee the quality of prints from an outside lab.

I respect your family privacy! All clients will be given the option to have their photos shared publicly by Elizabeth Hite Photography on the website, blog, and/or social media.

Of course!
If your newborn has siblings, we will want to include them in photos. I do not put pressure on siblings to participate, instead, I invite them to join in throughout the session when they feel like it. I want their experience to be fun and relaxed as well.
If grandparents are around, I will encourage them to join for a few photos.

Yes, I offer fresh 48 sessions! A Fresh 48 session is a special way to document the first 48 hours of your newborn's life in your hospital room or birth space. During your session, I document all the tiny and oh so sweet milestones such as first yawns, sibling introductions, first feedings, and lots of sleepy snuggles! .
