Mini sessions make it easy to pause, update your family photos, and hold onto what matters most.
2 weeks after your session, your fully edited photos will land in your inbox. You’ll get to soak it all in and then choose your image collection. Your final investment will be a total of your session fee plus the digital image collection of your choice.
Join photographer Carlos at the beautiful Hoyt Arboretum. These sessions are a blend of playful adventure and classic family portraits. Expect to explore the trails a bit! Hoyt Arboretum is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your Portland pup along for the adventure.

Just outside of Portland, Cooper Mountain is Beaverton’s most gorgeous hidden gem—with sweeping views of the Chehalem Mountains that create a dreamy natural backdrop. Be prepared for light hiking but the trail is stroller friendly. Morning sessions are available and work especially well for families with young children. Please note: dogs are not allowed at Cooper Mountain.

Celebrate your baby’s 6-month or 1-year milestone, a birthday, a mini maternity session, or a special mommy and me moment with a studio session in downtown Portland. These sessions are sweet and simple, with minimal props to keep the focus on what matters most—your connection, your love, and your little one’s personality!

On my mini session booking calendar, you will be able to choose a date with either Carlos or myself (Elizabeth). When you book a mini with Carlos, you will get the same family photography experience and I'll be in contact with you each step of the way, editing your gallery, and delivering each hand-picked image with my same style! Just 1-2 weeks after your session, you will receive an email from me that it's time to view your photos! Then you can choose and purchase your collection. This allows you the opportunity to view your images and select what best suits your family. All collections include high-resolution edited digital images with print release to download and print as you please. After your mini session collection, you'll be able to download your high-resolution images straight from your gallery. Then the best part begins - sharing your beautiful images with friends and family!
Your session fee is non-refundable, but it is transferable (I know life with little ones can be unpredictable). Just contact me and we will find you a new date!
You’d be surprised! Within a small time frame we can get a lot of great shots! Once our time begins, I’m basically shooting the entire time! I may be moving you around a lot in order to get a variety of different angles, backgrounds and compositions for your gallery.
That’s up to you! I respect your families privacy choices. You will be able to opt in or out of the model release on your client questionnaire after booking your session.
Kids can be unpredictable at times, so I find it best to stay flexible and follow the kids’ needs. If they need to run around, I’ll let them run and be silly before being still to capture the shots we need. If they don’t want to stand but will be held, we’ll do that instead. I tend to read each child for cues to capture the best photos we can! Don't scold your children or put too much pressure on them during your mini session, this will change the mood. We want the mood to be lighthearted and FUN in order to capture truly beautiful family moments!
Know that I will go with the flow and let your kiddos take the lead sometimes. Lifestyle family mini sessions are not about perfectly posed portraits, they are a combination of candid playful moments and "smiling at the camera" portraits!
Booking for fall and Christmas minis opens on July 26th every year to those on my email list. Prime dates sell out fast!
Kids get sick, it happens. Your mini session fee is transferable if you need to reschedule. Please contact me if your kiddos gets sick before a session and I will help you pick a reschedule date.
As a family photographer I am always on top of the weather! Unfortunately I do not control the weather, and of course we want the ideal weather for your photos, so there are times that sessions have to be rescheduled. I will be watching the weather before your session. If it looks like your session date will rain, I'll check in with you about backup options. Overcast skies are perfect, what we want to avoid is rain.
