Christmas Tree Farm Family Photos | Merry Christmas!

Christmas tree farm minis with Elizabeth Hite Photography

This year, I hosted 2 days of Christmas Tree farm mini sessions at Lee Farms in Tualatin, Oregon. Thank you so much to all the families who participated! Today I am sharing some highlights from our time together!

Playful Photography

Christmas tree farm photos are festive and fun because the excitement of looking at Christmas trees creates a relaxing, playful atmosphere for kids to explore and make memories with their families!

U-cut Christmas trees

What a fun family Christmas tradition it is to visit a local Christmas tree farm and cut down your own tree! I love the smell of a live Christmas tree in my home, it makes the house feel so cozy and festive! Lee Farms in Tualatin has a variety of trees to choose from including Noble, and Grand Firs. They also have a cute farm store where I picked up some farm fresh apple cider on my way home! Kids who come to the farm love visiting the horses, baby goats and other animals. They also have a really cool playground!

Christmas family photo outfits

What to wear for Christmas family photos? I always suggest sticking to a base of neutral tones and adding pops of red and green. If you are going to use your tree farm photos for your Christmas card, get creative with your holiday spirit! Mamas, pick your outfit first and then coordinate everyone else around you. For winter photos, make sure your kiddos are bundled up nice and warm so they are comfortable!

How to pick the perfect Christmas tree

Before you visit the tree farm, be sure you know exactly how much space you have in your home for your tree. Also be sure you know the diameter of your tree stand. Shop local by visiting a tree farm near you. The Portland, Oregon area has many beautiful tree farms to choose from. The freshness of your tree can be tested by bouncing it to make sure all the needles stay on. When you get it home, give it fresh water daily to protect your home from fire hazard!
