Now is your time to get in front of the camera with your kiddos, so treat yourself to a dress you love! Then coordinate everyone else's outfits around yours.

As a Portland Newborn and Family Photographer, I often help my client decide what to weara. Today I’m sharing some of my all time favorite photoshoot dresses for moms! What is the most flattering outfit for pictures?

I love long dresses and skirts for mothers because they can create movement in a photograph, such as blowing in the wind or twirling around! Dressy photos always stand out amongst those who go the more casual route and they are flattering on every body type. I also always suggest long dresses over short dresses because you may be running around at a park or sitting on the ground with your kiddos.

You will notice that many of my favorites are soft or neutral toned colors. I also love simple floral prints and high wasted skirts. I want the dress to add dimension and detail to your photoshoot, but not steal the show. I want the focus to be on your family’s beautiful faces and the connection you share with one another.
