2025 Pumpkin Patch Guide

Every day in the fall, my oldest daughter asks, “Can we go to a pumpkin patch today?” 🎃 Sometimes our weekends feel like marathons…I’ll be out early photographing family mini sessions, then I call my husband on the drive home to get the girls ready, and as soon as I’m back from my family photoshoots we load up in the car and head to a farm. With two active little ones, we end up visiting quite a few farms each season (PSL in hand, of course, because tired mom life deserves a treat!). I love that fall in Portland brings crisp mornings, colorful leaves, and so many opportunities to get outside together. If you’re looking for fun fall activities for the kids, or just the perfect pumpkin for your front porch, Portland and the surrounding areas are full of amazing farms to explore. Here’s your 2025 guide to the best pumpkin patches around Portland for families.

Children at Hoffman Farm pumpkin patch

Hoffman Farms (Beaverton)

Hoffman Farms is a local favorite, especially for families with younger kids. We go here a lot because it’s so close, and my girls love the playground with a tire mountain and tractor slides. The pumpkin patch is spacious, with plenty of room for little ones to run around. Beyond pumpkins, they also have a train ride, a farm store with homemade treats, and irrisistable kettle corn. Hoffman Farms is known for being family-friendly and not overly crowded, making it a great spot for a relaxed fall outing.

  • Pumpkin Patch Season Begins: September 24th

  • Entrance Price: Free admission; pay for pumpkins, shopping, and the train ride.

  • Why I love Hoffman Farm: It’s less than 15 min from my home in Beaverton, easy parking, stroller-friendly areas, and a playground for kids!

Lee Farms (Tualatin)

Lee Farms is a fall tradition for many Portland families. Their pumpkin patch is paired with an array of kid-friendly activities like hayrides, a corn maze, slides, bounce houses, and farm animals. And don’t miss their bakery…pumpkin donuts and fresh pies are a highlight of the season.

  • Pumpkin Patch Season Begins: September 20th

  • Entrance Price: Free admission for pumpkin patch; kids activity center wristbands available for purchase.

  • Why I love Visiting Lee Farms: Endless kid-friendly activities, amazing donuts and pies, festive atmosphere.

Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch (Portland)

You can’t talk about Portland pumpkin patches without mentioning Sauvie Island. The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island is iconic for its massive fields, hayrides, and the famous corn maze. It’s an all-day destination, so plan to spend some time exploring. The market also has fresh produce, local honey, and beautiful fall flowers to take home.

  • Pumpkin Patch Season Begins: September 27th

  • Why I love it: Huge pumpkin fields, great corn maze, the kids love visiting the farm animals in the barn, and they have a you pick flower field!

Plumper Pumpkin Patch (West Hills, Portland)

Plumper Pumpkin Patch is a charming family farm located in the West Hills. Along with pumpkin picking, families can enjoy hayrides, playgrounds, and even a chance to meet farm animals. It’s one of the most convenient patches for Portland families since it’s just minutes from downtown.

  • Pumpkin Patch Season Begins: September 13th

  • Entrance Price: Admission fee for activities; pumpkin patch access included.

  • Why I love it: Close to the city, hands-on farm fun, beautiful hillside views.

Children playing at Roloff Farm pumpkin patch in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Roloff Farms (Hillsboro)

Made famous by the TV show Little People, Big World, Roloff Farms offers a unique and memorable pumpkin patch experience. Beyond picking pumpkins, you’ll find wagon tours, animals, adventure play areas like an airplane and spooky forest walk, and photo opportunities around every corner. This patch is especially exciting for kids because of the variety of activities beyond the pumpkins themselves. It is more expensive than some of the other local pumpkin partches, but it’s a full days worth of activites, so so worth it in my book!

  • Pumpkin Patch Season Begins: October 3rd

  • Entrance Price: Admission fee required; additional fees for some activities.

  • Why I love it: Tons of kid-centered activities, unique farm experience, great for making a whole day of it.

Toddlers and pumpkins at Helvetia Farm Market and Smith Berry Barn

Non-Traditional Pumpkin Patch Farms But Still Fun

These spots aren’t traditional pumpkin patches, but they are perfect for a family fall outing and give kids plenty of ways to explore and play.

Smith Berry Barn (Hillsboro)

Smith Berry Barn isn’t a traditional pumpkin patch, but it’s a must-visit in the fall. The kids love seeing the goats, apple picking is a hit, and they even have pumpkins for sale. Plus, the cafe offers coffee and seasonal milkshakes, a perfect mom treat while the kids explore. Our favorite thing to do as a family is start the day with apple picking at Smith Berry Barn, and then cross the street for lunch at the South Store Cafe. This cafe has Gilmore Girls small town vibes and makes my heart so happy!

  • Entrance Price: Free; pay for apples, pumpkins, and cafe items.

  • Why I love it: Animals to see, apple picking, cozy cafe with treats, a toddler friendly maize, kid-friendly.

Helvetia Farm Market (Helvetia)

Helvetia Farm Market has pumpkins for sale, a cute farm store, wine tasting, coffee, chickens, lawn games, and sometimes food trucks. The gorgeous country views make it an ideal spot to relax while kids run around on the lawn. This is a spot I like to go when I want to catch up with a mom friend over a coffee or a glass of wine while we watch the kids run wild on the open lawn.

  • Entrance Price: Free; pay for pumpkins, wine tastings, and cafe items.

  • Why I Love it: Stunning country views, wine tasting, coffee, food trucks, space for kids to run.
